Sapatos Plataforma! The one stop Samba shoe shop!
Today was a Samba Shoe Mission! 100 degrees outside and the streets are packed! I head out in search of shoes for some of my long time Samba friends and students and much to my relief, I was able to find great shoes for them! Mission accomplished! Ladies if you need Samba shoes this is the place. It's where I bought my first real samba shoes a few years ago, that I still have and enjoy dancing in and where you can find high quality! The store is a little hidden gem, as it's in the Centro in Rio, which is jam packed during Carnaval. It's upstairs. From the street it does not look fancy, and is easy to walk by and miss, but once you get up the stairs you find incredible shoes, a true Samba passista spot! What is a passista? A Passista is samba dancer who dances in Carnaval in the parade, showing the footwork and hips, and art of samba dance. Basically a pro Sambista! Janete and her husband run the shop together and are super helpful. check out her facebook : https://www.facebook.com/sapatos.plataforma.3?fref=ts
I found this shoe here! Can you imagine dancing in this? I started laughing when I saw it. Janete told me it's for theatrical comedy and drama performances. I would be hilarious dancing in this! Check out this flyer for more info and address.

I wish we have this store in Los Angeles :) I bet everyone can find best fit shoes here.. 1/21/2018 10:17:30 am
I consider myself as more of as a bag person rather than a shoes person. I do not have pretty feet, which is probably the main reason why I am not fond of shopping for shoes unlike you. I prefer to shop for bags because I believe that a woman is not complete without a sturdy handbag. I just find it more enjoyable when I shop for bags than shoes. I also get to use bags in a more fashionable way than shoes.

Very sensitive post shilpa …. clothing has nothing to do with rape, it is said that in one of the study done in our country, it was found that most women raped were found in salwar kameez and saree… instead of blaming women for their clothes, it is better to teach boys/men to respect women, which must begin from family 5/14/2021 01:21:29 am
Thanks for your post. I’ve been thinking about writing a very comparable post over the last couple of weeks, I’ll probably keep it short and sweet and link to this instead if thats cool. Thanks. 9/23/2021 07:23:50 am

This is such a vibrant and authentic post! I loved reading about your Samba shoe mission in Rio the thrill of finding that hidden gem in Centro, your first-ever real samba shoes, and how they’ve become a beloved part of your dance journey. Your description captures both the energy of Carnaval and the importance of quality gear. It’s wonderful to see how community, passion, and footwear intersect to support art in motion. Thank you for sharing such heartfelt storytelling! Leave a Reply. |
